Kabini River Lodge

Kabini river lodge, located at Karapur near Nagarhole National Park is about 210 kms South West of Bangalore. Kabini is the perfect gateway for the nature lovers. The greatest attraction at Kabini is the convergence many variety of wildlife and birdlife though the elephants outnumber them.

Kabini is one of Karnataka's best wildlife resorts, stretched over 55 acres of forest and river. Kabini, was once the hunting lodge of the erstwhile Mysore Maharajas. Kabini is today rated among the top five wildlife resorts in the world by Tatler's Travel Guide, a prestigious British Travel Magazine.

Kabini is home to leopard, gaur, antelope, crocodile, tiger, cobra, python and herds of elephant among other animals. Kabini shelters the osprey, brown-headed fishing eagle, racket tailed drongo, goldenbacked woodpecker, stork and peafowl among almost 250 species of bird life.

A wildlife safari, safari on elephant back is a must at the Kabini River Lodge.

Best time to visit: You can come to Kabini at any time of the year, but November to January is best time to see wildlife and another best time to visit Kabini is July to October when the forests turns a lush green.

Accommodation: Kabini River Lodge has colonial-style rooms, riverside cottages and tents with good amenities.

The colonial style has been built as look-alikes of the Maharaja and Viceroy buildings, located in the camp.
